Debby Marshall – Office Manager

Jodie Gilbertson - Licensed Veterinary Technician

I graduated from North Dakota State University with a B.S. in Veterinary Technology. After completing an internship at TAH I stayed on as a full-time employee after I finished college. In my year and some at TAH I have learned more about true devotion and care of animals than I have learned in my entire life. My days are made worthwhile by the great clients and their fun pets!

Kellee Recht – Licensed Veterinary Technician
Alice Gobeli -  Licensed Veterinary Technician
Eric Clark - Veterinary Assistant

I came here from Utah in 2001.  I started volunteering at TAH when I was 14 and a few months later I asked for a job.  I've learned a lot while working here.  This year I am starting school because I've always wanted to be a veterinarian.  This is a really fun and rewarding job and I love the people I work with.  I love animals and have quite a few pets of my own.

Christine Lahamedjian – Veterinary Assistant
Vina Nguyen - Veterinary Assistant

I was born and raised in Portland Oregon. I graduated from Southridge high school in 2005. Working from a retirement home, and several other occupations, I realized that my true passion lies in working with animals and assisting veterinarians.

I have been working at Tigard Animal Hospital since the beginning of 2007. The staff members are all well trained and have a lot of knowledge in the field. I am able to work with the technician and learn new things on a daily basis. Working at the clinic has given me a new opportunity to build towards my career goal of becoming a veterinary technician.

"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."

Kendra Gram – Veterinary Receptionist

I've enjoyed working here since my hiring in June of '06.  TAH's incredible staff and fantastic clients inspire me every day.  I enjoy teaching and educating our clients about zoonotic diseases and how to protect themselves and their pets from them.

Sarah Stewart - Veterinary Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Casey Charleston – Veterinary Receptionist

I have lived in the Beaverton/Tigard area most of my life. I went to University of Oregon for a little over a year, and have recently moved back to the Tigard area. I have worked at Tigard Animal Hospital for the five months I have been back. I love the people I work with, and all of the pets and clients I come into contact with everyday. It makes each day an enjoyable experience. I learn something new everyday working here, and can use it to care for my pets in the best way possible.

What is Hyperthyroidism?

Older cats (15 is the average age) often develop a benign growth in one of both thyroid glands, resulting in excessive hormone production. The thyroid glands sit above the voice box and are generally not palpable. When hyperthyroidism develops, that generally become palpable. Their normal function is to produce hormones that control the body's metabolism (e.g., how fast food calories are burned, how much inhaled oxygen is used and how fast the heart beats). In other words, how much thyroid hormone is being produced will determine how fast your cat's "engine is revving."
