PET FOOD RECALL!!
The Proctor & Gamble Company has issued a voluntary recall of many Iams and Eukanuba dry pet foods due to a possible salmonella health risk. No cases of salmonella have been reported, but the company is recommending immediate discontinuation of feeding your pet any of the affected foods. Since people are also at risk for salmonella, it is recommended to wear gloves when discarding the affected food. Please wash any food dishes and containers very well before reusing. Foods affected are as follows: Iams Veterinary Dry Formulas, Eukanuba Naturally Wild, Eukanuba Pure, and Eukanuba Custom Care Sensitive Skin. A complete list of the “Best-By” Dates and UPC Codes of recalled foods can be found on www.iams.com.
We have contacted all our clients affected by the veterinary diet line, but please spread the word regarding the store-bought diets. Please call immediately if you think your pet may have salmonella. Signs to watch for are loose stool, vomiting, straining to defecate, anorexia and lethargy among others. More information on salmonella can be found at: www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm048182.htm.
It hardly seems possible but this month we will celebrate our 10th anniversary! We want to THANK YOU for all your support both by referring your friends and neighbors and by allowing us to provide care for your pets. To celebrate, we will be providing most vaccinations for only $10 each during the month of August. We will also be holding a drawing for a complimentary dental, a year-supply of parasite preventative and up to six bags of food! Everyone who comes in to celebrate with us this month will be eligible for the drawing. To thank you for your referrals, we will also be giving away $100 at the end of the month for all clients who refer a friend. We strive to provide the best and most up-to-date medical, dental and surgical care available. We look forward to your input and suggestions on what we can do to continue to improve the care and services we provide to you and your pets.
